Mount Fuji , culminating at 3,776m, is Japan's tallest peak and an iconic symbol of the country as well as a sacred site. Mount Yotei on Hokkaido has a similar shape, with an altitude of 1,898m.
Cherry blossom, or sakura, is a very popular motif in Japan. The tradition of viewing the flowers blossom in Spring, called hanami, is the expression of mono no aware, the nostalgic awareness of impermanence.
